Family Fun

Creating with Theresa Collins Family pocket page kit was fun.  It has so many different elements in it.  From transparencies to cards that are die cut, this small kit has so many opportunities.  Then the wood veneers from Crate Paper added just the right touch.

Swim Team Thank You's and Copic First Attempt

I had a fun time creating Thank You cards for the Swim Team coaches this year.  Each of the little swimmers is colored to look like the coach they are personalized for.  These are my first attempt at coloring with Copic markers and I think they turned out really well.  The image is a digital file from The Greeting Farm.  The coaches loved them.

Craft Warehouse Pebbles 4th of July Design Team Project

I'm so excited that it's my turn to design a project for Craft Warehouse.  I loved designing this banner and I hope others enjoy it to.  For a tutprial on how to create this banner and see other photos including a card and layout, check it out on the Craft Warehouse Blog.  http://shopcraftwarehouse.blogspot.com/2014/07/4th-of-july-celebration-by-design-team.html

Cold Zone

We don't get enough snow for the kids to sled very often so this moment was very memorable and worth scrapbooking.  Add the fact that one of the kids got stuck under the fence...well.  :)

McAllister Flight Show

One weekend last summer we decided to stop and watch the McAllister Fight Show.  The guys did lots of showing off and we had tons of fun.  The highlight of the show was that the kids got to touch the planes so I snapped a few photos.

I just started subscribing to the Paper Camellia Kit club.  They send me an assortment of goodies each month.  This month it was an assortment of My Mind's Eye and Heidi Swapp papers.  I really liked the golds and warm blues, pinks, and reds.  I had too many pictures for my page but only wanted a one page scrapbook page so I made a small flap on the bottom to house two more photos.  I will slit my page protector when it has a permanent home in my scrapbook and slide the flap through.

And a card with my scraps.  :)

Fab Fall Days

With the stress of the end of the school year in my midst, I decided I needed some me time.  I decided to pick up a page that has been hanging around my desk for a while now.  Ellie is only a little over a year old.  Such a cutie!

I'm loving the gold accents on my pages right now.  This sheet of gold glitter paper was fun to work with and added so much to my page.

A card with the scraps is always good to add to my collection too.  :)

Birthday Balloon Cards

Inspired by Jennifer McGuire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pG0mdTNwXc I created these cute little birthday cards.  I used two stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp and I die cut the tops of the cards with the words "celebrate" and "happy" with a die set from My Favorite Things.  To get the gradient in the background I water colored some blue using my Geletos.  I finished off the card with Some Clear Wink of Stella glitter and some hearts and twine.

Grandma and Grandpa

This page is very special to me.  It is a photo of how I remember my grandparents.  I wanted to do something special for this layout and use some modeling paste and gold Geletos.  It didn't turn out like I originally planned but with some layering I think it turned out really nice.

I am taking a class online with Kelly Purkey and Studio Calico called "Sketchbook" in which they give us tons of inspiration to make our own layouts.  This layout was inspired from week 2 of that class.

Modeling Paste Mother's Day Cards

I was having fun experimenting with modeling paste and embossing powder today making Mother's Day cards.
To make the background of these cards I used a Teresa Collins stencil and some modeling paste.  I applied the modeling paste over the stencil and while wet I covered it in gold embossing powder and let it dry over night.  After it dried, I heated and set the embossing powder.  Next I cut the banner strip on the top and stamped the message.  It is one that Josh says over and over..."love you so, so much."  Then I added another strip of paper and some twine.  I like the feel of the texture on this card.

Wedding time!

Tis the season for weddings!  I am very excited to go to a wedding of a longtime friend.  This project was made three layers of paint and vinyl letting it dry between each layer.  The board was pre painted white which saved a ton of time.  I placed the names in vinyl on the white surface and then painted over them in grey.  I then placed the "and", line, and est 2014 on the grey surface and painted it all black with black chalkboard paint.  Note to self...the white tip stays in the spray paint can.  lol.  After it dried, I peeled off all the vinyl.  I made a mess but had lots of fun.

Date Night with Josh

Josh and I had fun on our date night.  We did dinner at Olive Garden,  the Lego Movie and a quick trip to Craft Warehouse in between to pass the time.  While at the craft store I found this adorable background stamp by Hero Arts.  It is prefect for scrapbooking our night.  I embossed it with neon green embossing powder. All other products are from October Afternoon with the exception of the enamel dots from My Minds Eye.

You Say the Cutest Things

My kids are very imaginative.  They say the most creative and random things.  This time it was "I'm a little pig in a big pig city."  At Red Lobster last week it was, "No puppies on the menu!" loud enough for the entire corner of the restaurant to hear.  I don't want to forget these moments.  So what better way than to scrapbook them.  I also wanted to use some of my new Studio Calico goodies from the February 2014 kit.  ;)

Then what better way to use my scraps than to make a matching card.  ;)
