McAllister Flight Show

One weekend last summer we decided to stop and watch the McAllister Fight Show.  The guys did lots of showing off and we had tons of fun.  The highlight of the show was that the kids got to touch the planes so I snapped a few photos.

I just started subscribing to the Paper Camellia Kit club.  They send me an assortment of goodies each month.  This month it was an assortment of My Mind's Eye and Heidi Swapp papers.  I really liked the golds and warm blues, pinks, and reds.  I had too many pictures for my page but only wanted a one page scrapbook page so I made a small flap on the bottom to house two more photos.  I will slit my page protector when it has a permanent home in my scrapbook and slide the flap through.

And a card with my scraps.  :)

Fab Fall Days

With the stress of the end of the school year in my midst, I decided I needed some me time.  I decided to pick up a page that has been hanging around my desk for a while now.  Ellie is only a little over a year old.  Such a cutie!

I'm loving the gold accents on my pages right now.  This sheet of gold glitter paper was fun to work with and added so much to my page.

A card with the scraps is always good to add to my collection too.  :)

Birthday Balloon Cards

Inspired by Jennifer McGuire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pG0mdTNwXc I created these cute little birthday cards.  I used two stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp and I die cut the tops of the cards with the words "celebrate" and "happy" with a die set from My Favorite Things.  To get the gradient in the background I water colored some blue using my Geletos.  I finished off the card with Some Clear Wink of Stella glitter and some hearts and twine.

Grandma and Grandpa

This page is very special to me.  It is a photo of how I remember my grandparents.  I wanted to do something special for this layout and use some modeling paste and gold Geletos.  It didn't turn out like I originally planned but with some layering I think it turned out really nice.

I am taking a class online with Kelly Purkey and Studio Calico called "Sketchbook" in which they give us tons of inspiration to make our own layouts.  This layout was inspired from week 2 of that class.

Modeling Paste Mother's Day Cards

I was having fun experimenting with modeling paste and embossing powder today making Mother's Day cards.
To make the background of these cards I used a Teresa Collins stencil and some modeling paste.  I applied the modeling paste over the stencil and while wet I covered it in gold embossing powder and let it dry over night.  After it dried, I heated and set the embossing powder.  Next I cut the banner strip on the top and stamped the message.  It is one that Josh says over and over..."love you so, so much."  Then I added another strip of paper and some twine.  I like the feel of the texture on this card.

Wedding time!

Tis the season for weddings!  I am very excited to go to a wedding of a longtime friend.  This project was made three layers of paint and vinyl letting it dry between each layer.  The board was pre painted white which saved a ton of time.  I placed the names in vinyl on the white surface and then painted over them in grey.  I then placed the "and", line, and est 2014 on the grey surface and painted it all black with black chalkboard paint.  Note to self...the white tip stays in the spray paint can.  lol.  After it dried, I peeled off all the vinyl.  I made a mess but had lots of fun.

Date Night with Josh

Josh and I had fun on our date night.  We did dinner at Olive Garden,  the Lego Movie and a quick trip to Craft Warehouse in between to pass the time.  While at the craft store I found this adorable background stamp by Hero Arts.  It is prefect for scrapbooking our night.  I embossed it with neon green embossing powder. All other products are from October Afternoon with the exception of the enamel dots from My Minds Eye.

You Say the Cutest Things

My kids are very imaginative.  They say the most creative and random things.  This time it was "I'm a little pig in a big pig city."  At Red Lobster last week it was, "No puppies on the menu!" loud enough for the entire corner of the restaurant to hear.  I don't want to forget these moments.  So what better way than to scrapbook them.  I also wanted to use some of my new Studio Calico goodies from the February 2014 kit.  ;)

Then what better way to use my scraps than to make a matching card.  ;)

Birthdays in Gold

It's that time of year to once again stock up and mass produce some birthday cards.  This time I decided I was going to attack my 6x6 patterned paper pads and make some good cards.  I picked out a pad from My Mind's Eye that was already halfway finished and made six of these cards from that one pad.  I also had gold thread on my machine from my December Daily and some gold embossing powder out to use.  I was able to finish the 6x6 pad up and I love the cards it made.

A Little Bit of Christmas Fun

The kids and I have a tradition. Every year we create tags together for the tops of our packages.  We had a tone of fun making this year's present tags.  This year we made trees out of Studio Calico Wood veneer trees.  We colored them green with a marker and then embossed the trees with three to four layers of clear embossing powder and then a layer of Stampendous Glass glitter and another layer of clear embossing powder.  I cut the tags out of Crate Paper patterned paper and then stamped them with Mama Elephant stamps.  I loved the stamps I chose this year.  I used four different Christmas sentiments from the set.  I loved how they turned out.

Fall Family Banner

I have really been enjoying my Summertime banner on my blinds this summer.  It was very sad to take it down.  So I had a great thought.  I decided to search Pinterest for some fun fall ideas I could use to make a fall banner.  First I found this cute post on http://lilybeanpaperie.typepad.com/lilybeans_paperie/2013/09/candy-corn-season.html that made the cutest little candy corns. What says fall better than candy corn!

Then I found these cute Chalkboard Banner pieces from http://www.shanty-2-chic.com/2013/09/free-printable-chalkboard-banner-letters.html

I had already made a welcome sign for my classroom with these letters and some burlap but I thought the two ideas together would be a perfect addition to my home.  The results were really cute but it was really really big.  :)  This is my finished banner.

Weekend Project #5 Summertime Gossamer Blue Banner

Anyone notice that my weekend project list is growing.  Such is life.  :)  I just keep finding projects that need to get finished before I start back to work.

This next project is from a class that I took this summer with Gossamer Blue.  I loved the idea of using paper bags as backdrops to my banner.  Thank you Michelle Wooderson for putting together such a cute project for us.  I enjoyed it.

A Summer of Scrapbooking

I don't remember how many years it has been since Diana and I have been able to scrapbook this much during a summer but in between projects I had to take a break and do some pages.  Thanks Diana.  I have enjoyed our scrapbooking fun.

Weekend Project #4 More School Fun

Another one of my projects that needed to get done this summer was making some numbers for the desks of my classroom and the computers.

Since I am a Photography and Yearbook Teacher I thought Cameras and Shutters would be very appropriate for my classroom.  I fell in love with these little Camera Labels from Loni Stevens.  The labels make the perfect group labels for my desks.  I finished off the cut by using red Stickles to dress up the hearts in the center.
For my computers in my classroom I made 1 1/2 inch square numbers.  I left them on the sheet for now but scored the sheet into squares so that I can run in through the laminator as one piece then cut it when I am done.  LOVE these Shutters by Alaa' K and Number Tag Set by Loni Stevens.
I also needed numbers for my student seats.  The Project Life Honey & Jade sets were perfect for this project.  I pulled out two cards of 31 different designs to number 1-31.  I wanted a matching set to randomly draw student numbers.  I then used my Silhouette to cut out the numbers 1-31 and glued them on.
I'm looking forward to getting these on my tables and equipment.  :)

Weekend Project #3 Where Grizzlies Shine Wall Hanging

With a newly built classroom I wanted to make a fun wall where I can show off my students' work.  I decided to use a long wall in my classroom to display the words "Where Grizzlies Shine" and I plan to surround it with "best of show" photos my students have taken. I am excited.  It is looking good.
